Privacy Policy & Data Collection

At Quotebook, we take your privacy extremely seriously. We do not collect, store, or sell any personal user data.

• No Account Required: You can browse, listen to, and generate posters for all 1 Million+ quotes entirely anonymously.
• Local Storage Only: Features like your saved bookmarks and "Lite Mode" preferences are stored strictly locally on your own browser (using `localStorage`). This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
• Basic Analytics: We use Google Analytics solely to monitor overall website traffic and ensure our servers are running smoothly. We do not track individual users or correlate activity across sessions.

Third-Party APIs & Content

Quotebook acts as a creative aggregator and studio. To provide our features, we rely on public and third-party APIs. By using our service, you acknowledge the following:

1. Pixabay Photography

The background images used in our Visual Poster Studio and throughout the application are provided dynamically via the Pixabay API. All images sourced from Pixabay are released under the Pixabay License, which makes them safe to use for personal and commercial purposes without attribution. However, Quotebook is not responsible for the content provided by Pixabay.

2. Wikipedia Snippets

Our "Author Profiles" feature pulls biographical summaries and thumbnail images directly from the Wikipedia REST API. This content is provided under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License. Quotebook does not claim ownership over any Wikipedia content.

3. Quotes Database

The quotes displayed on Quotebook are sourced from public domain datasets and open APIs. While we strive to curate and verify authors, some historical quotes may be misattributed or paraphrased. If you spot a factual error, please let us know via the Contact page.

Usage of Poster Studio

When you generate a custom quote poster using our Poster Studio, the final image is generated entirely on your device using your browser's Canvas API. We do not save, host, or monitor the images you create. You are free to download, share, and distribute the posters you generate for personal use.
